WHAT IS ABSTINENCE?
Abstinence is an act of self-control over the natural desire to have sex. Abstinence is refraining from doing something. So in terms of sex, sex abstinence means refraining from having sex. It is important to discuss abstinence especially to youth in rural primary, secondary schools and Universities who have less chances and opportunities to radio programs, books /novels, magazines, Televisions that talk about Abstinence and it is better if it is well practiced to fight HIV/AIDS.
Abstinence is not having sex. A person who decides to practice abstinence has decided not to have sex.
ReplyDeleteif two people don't have sex, then sperm can't fertilize an egg and there's no possibility of a pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteSome forms of birth control depend on barriers that prevent the sperm from reaching the egg (such as condoms or diaphragms). Others interfere with the menstrual cycle (as birth control pills do).
With abstinence, no barriers or pills are necessary because the person is not having sex.
